Playstation2 bringt Anfang 2005 das Spiel "Playboy - The Mansion" auf den Markt. Wer Rollenspiele wie die Sims mag, wird auch an "Playboy - The Mansion" seine helle Freude haben: schlüft in die Rolle von Hugh Hefner, tummelt euch mit heißen Bunnys auf dem Playboy-Anwesen und treibt das Playboy-Imperium voran. Felix da Housecat hatte die Ehre, den zugehörigen Soundtrack mit seinen Mixkünsten zu veredeln. Das Tracklisting umfasst folgende Titel:

The biggest Grand Theft Auto game yet is almost upon us, and like always, the amount of information that Rockstar lets out the gate is barely enough to get our minds reeling, let alone whet our appetites. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas promises to be the most ambitious and expansive entry yet into the pivotal series, and given what's come before, that's saying a lot. Recently, Rockstar gave us a glimpse of one of the game's three major metropolitan areas -- San Fierro, its take on San Francisco, California. Judging from the brief demo, it's simply huge, and it's hard to believe that it's infact one of three major geographical areas in the game. But that's the truth.

California Dreamin'

Rather than present literal representations of the cities that its games are based on, the Grand Theft Auto renders them in broader strokes. Names are changed, sometimes drastically, and while major landmarks are represented and immediately recognizable, more liberties are taken in regards to actual cityscapes. Neighborhoods will blend into one another, and the geography is generally condensed. But as any native of a city whose received the GTA-treatment will testify to, the distinct character of the various hoods that are recreated always emerge intact.

San Fierro is no different. In terms of essential San Francisco landmarks, most made the cut: the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, and the Transamerica Building. There will be working streetcar networks, whose individual lines CJ can jack, and use as instruments of mayhem. The winding streets of Chinatown look every bit as dense and bustling as their real-life counterparts, and the Haight district (called "Hashbury," in San Andreas is populated with just as many "tobacco" shops as it is in the non-virtual world. Of course, it's what's in these worlds that ultimately determines their value, but you can't downplay how amusing it is to drive through these altogether loose takes on real-life cities, and almost feel a familiar vibe.

That said, the all-too-brief demo that I was treated to made evident that there will indeed be a whole bunch of stuff to do within the idyllic (relatively speaking, anyway) confines of San Fierro. Some of San Andreas' most intriguing new elements are actually accessed by geographical sites in the city.


You earn the right to stand around looking this tough after taking 1,001 beatings.


Take the Cobra Martial Arts Dojo. Located in San Fierro's Chinatown, this is where CJ will hone his scrapping skills, and the process is far more involved that you might imagine. The resident sensei (who's voice seems like it pulled straight from chop-socky Hong Kong cinema, but that's a whole other story) will drill CJ on the art of the beatdown. This entails going round after round with him, as he teaches the budding warrior-thug new moves and combos that will eventually compliment (and sometimes supplant) the rough and dirty street-style that his upbringing taught him. Among the moves I saw shown during the demo were running front kicks, vicious heel drops, and powerful roundhouses.

Ultimately, it will work like this: the moves CJ learns at the dojo will incorporate themselves into his standard hand-to-hand moveset. As he learns more moves, better ones will replace inferior ones in his repertoire. Presumably, the fully-developed CJ will boast a wicked style the blends the brutality of streetfighting (think all other GTA games) with delicate, and deadly martial arts. CJ will benefit from training in this manner in much the same way as he would from working out in a regular gym, so those of you prone to putting down multiple pizza pies, take note. Oh, and there's also an autolock built into the fisticuffs system, so If you're were one of those people that thought that hand-to-hand combat in previous GTAs was a little bit janky (read: everyone), then feel free to rejoice.

The sexiest music-DVD of all time

Um möglichst viele User auf die Website zu locken und gleichzeitig Werbung für die in den nächsten Tagen erscheinende CD-DVD "The Annual" zu machen, zeigt man bei Ministry of Sound nun viele leichtbekleidete Mädels - kurzum: die heißesten Videoclips aus dem Dancegenre, die jemals gedreht wurden. Teilweise sind Clips dabei, die aufgrund ihrer aufreizenden Bilder im offiziellen Musik-TV nie gezeigt wurden allerdings auf der Bonus-DVD der diesjährigen "The Annual"-Kopplung mit dabei sind. Neben der ungekürzten Version von Eric Prydz "Call On Me" sind auch offenherzige Clips von und mit Add N To (X) ("Plug Me In"), Armand Van Helden ("My, My, My") sowie Aloud ("Sex and Sun") zu bewundern. Die Verspielten werden mit dem Video-Remix-Tool ihren Spaß haben: mixt euch die heißesten Video-Szenen aller Clips zusammen!

Wer zum Teufel ist Rex The Dog? Über das Label ist nichts zu erfahren, da der Gute auf jeden Fall ungenannt bleiben will. Bisher war nur zu hören, dass es sich um einen bekannten Produzenten aus London handeln soll. Vielleicht im Depeche-Mode-Umfeld? Er hat ja nicht nur "Photographic" geremixt, sondern erscheint auch auf der Client-Single auf dem Label von DM-Mann Fletcher. Oder ist er ein Buddy von Jake Daniels aka JX, weil sein Remix zu "Restless" fast gleichzeitig mit seinem ersten eigenen Track "Prototype" kam. Man weiß es nicht. Mit "Frequency" jedenfalls meldet sich Rex The Dog beeindruckend zurück. Sein mittlerweile schon unverwechselbarer Synthie-Einsatz entzückt, verzaubert und polarisiert. Die effektierten Vocals und die langsamen Arpeggios bei "I Look Into Mid Air" zeigen eine ganz andere, süße Seite von ihm, die mir fast noch besser gefällt. Ich stehe auf diesen Hund!...

Mike Skinner hat Presse-Berichten zufolge Probleme mit Glücksspielen. Er soll sehr hohe Einsätze - im fünfstelligen Bereich - verspielt haben, so dass er sogar eine neue Hypothek für sein Haus aufnehmen musste. Doch das ist noch nicht alles! Er soll sogar so weit der Spielsucht verfallen sein, dass er Geldreserven für seine US-Tour anzapfte - und verspielte. Dadurch hätte er beinahe die Tour absagen müssen.
Mike äußerte sich erst kürzlich in der britischen Zeitung 'The Sun' dazu: 'Im Grunde genommen, hab ich zu viel getrunken und dadurch zu viel Geld auf Wetten gesetzt!' Doch nun soll er seine Spielsucht unter Kontrolle haben, da er mit dem Trinken aufgehört haben soll. 'Ich habe seit Juli nichts angerührt, als mein Leben den Bach runter ging, wegen meiner Spielexzesse.'

THE FIRST MODERN DJ

The true origins of the DJ are not completely certain, but they trace way back to a man in Otley, West Yorkshire, England as early as 1943 by the name of Jimmy Savile. There are rumors that he was the first man to play vinyl live charging one shilling for admission. Humble beginnings, but the start of something much much bigger.

Jimmy Savile might be considered the first DJ, but the first modern DJ and the one who created club DJing is widely accepted as DJ Francis Grasso. The term "modern" DJ meaning the DJ as we know him now- DJs that are music artists with a superstar status, the DJ that has the power to move and influence a huge audience. When I say move an audience, I'm not just referring to making them dance and 'jack their bodies'. I'm referring also to the spiritual aspect of the art of the DJ. Moving the audience by changing the whole energy and emotions of the audience. Bringing them from the depths of the chill-out to ecstatic highs. The modern DJ that doesn't play records to please a crowd, but he shares himself with it.

Francis Grasso was born in Brooklyn, New York and at an early age played guitar, saxophone, and the drums. His first job in the dance world was as a dancer at Trude Heller's Club. One night when he went to a club called Salvation II, he was asked to DJ after Terry Noel, the regular DJ was a no show. The manager decided to keep Francis and fire Noel, thus giving Francis his first DJ gig. He started by spinning soul with African rhythms. He would play records like Aretha Franklin, Led Zeppelin, Chicago, and Gladys Knight. This was in 1968, before even the first hint of Disco music.

After this he moved to Sanctuary club situated in Hell's Kitchen that used to be a German Baptist Church and was probably the very first gay night club or at least the most notorious one. He played there until its closure in 1972. It was there that he gained his reputation and developed the techniques that he is now famous for and that helped catalyze the disco craze and the popularity of the modern DJ.

One of the techniques he is famous for is 'slip cueing'. Slip cueing is the technique of holding a record still while the turntable is still spinning beneath it in order to play the next record on an exact beat. This method is used to continually stream the music by started a new record on the last beat of the one playing and fading the volume thus making a continual mix without interruptions or pauses.

Another technique he is famous for and is perhaps more important is matching beats with the records which is much ahead of the term BPM. He was known for playing two records simultaneously for sometimes as much as two minutes which is an amazing task considering that then there was no such thing as a pitch control and no way to adjust the turntable once it started playing the vinyl.

Francis Grasso was the first DJ to truly be admired by the crowd and to obtain some of the popularity that now characterizes the modern DJ. He was friends with people like Andy Warhol, Calving Klein, and Jimi Hendrix and also dated Liza Manelli. He was also in two movies. The first was "Klute" in 1971 which showed him working at the Sanctuary for a few seconds and the second was the recent documentary of dance music titled "Maestro" which features the only known recorded interview of him.

He eventually quit working as a DJ in 1981 after losing ambition and worked occasionally in construction in Brooklyn. He died on March 20 in 2001 at the young age of 52. Sadly, his work wasn't as recognized as it should have been during the period of his life, but it still has its mark on what we know as the dance music culture today. Not only did he improve dance world with his techniques, he really changed the whole concept of the DJ.

Ihr kennt Ihn. Seit Jahren legt er als DJ die Clubs Kölns/ Deutschlands/ Europas/ der Welt zuverlässig in Schutt und Asche bis zur Alleinherrschaft der glücklichen Gesichter auf ihren kraftlosen Körpern. In nunmehr weit über zehn Jahren der Arbeit erschuf sich Mayer dank konstanter Qualität, Kompromißlosigkeit und Hingabe seinen festen Platz an der Weltspitze des Techno. Jetzt, 2004, nach etlichen Musikprojekten wie der Kölner MinTech-Boygroup "Forever Sweet" (mit Tobias Thomas und Reinhard Voigt, die 1998 das Album "Geben und Nehmen" veröffentlichten), etlichen Solo-Maxis für KOMPAKT – darunter der jetzt-schon-Soft-Schaffel-Klassiker LOVE IS STRONGER THAN PRIDE - und ungezählten Remixen nun also endlich eine lupenreine Michael-Mayer-LP. Denn jetzt ist das fällig, Zeit für die Berührung. Erst jetzt, denn der Mann überstürzt halt nichts. Weil er weise ist. TOUCH eröffnet mit dem gleichnamigen Monstertrack. Unverzagt wird Tuchfühlung aufgenommen: das so aus- wie einladende Bombast-Intro, welches ebensogut in einen David-Morales-Pet-Shop-Boys-Remix oder ein Blank&Jones-Set in der Westfalenhalle 1 münden könnte, schürt die Erwartungen bis aufs Un-aushaltbare, um dann den Weg freizugeben für unsere heilige Bassdrum. Und weiter geht die Reise durch die parolenfreie Glückszone - denn Gesang, so en vogue gerade auch in Technoland er momentan auch sein mag, wurde bereits an der Türe höflich-kompetent nach Hause geschickt. Wir wollen ja allein sein mit dem Sound, der sich selber Botschaft genug ist. PRIVAT, HEIDEN und NEUE LUTHERSCHE FRAKTUR feiern weiter die Sehnsucht, die in jeder wirklichen Euphorie vonnöten ist. Und auch vor Benassi-"Satisfaction"-1:1-Zitaten wird nicht zurückgeschreckt. Dann kommt, im Zentrum der Platte, das elegische SLOWFOOD. Dann kommt Slow-Funk, der aber nicht gerade die caffelattes des Belgischen Viertels / der Schanze / von Mitte anwärmt, sondern eher so "zum Nachdenken anregt" (grusel). Und groovt.! Wie Holz. Dann nochmal Club-Schleudergang und natürlich der unvermeidliche Schaffel, AMABILE. Und dann wollen wir es aber nicht wahrhaben, daß im TOUCH jetzt schon das Putzlicht angeht...wir wollen noch mehr Mayerschen Maximaltechno!

Der Club befindet sich in einem ehemaligen Keller, genauso wie auch viele andere Clubs in Saarbrücken... er begrenzt sich dem entsprechend auf einen kleinen Raum!(so etwa 50 qm Tanzfläche!) Die Bude kommt also oft zum kochen, denn sie geniesst einen extrem guten Ruf unter den "Kennern". Es wird dort vorwiegend minimal und house gespielt... demnächst kommt Tania Vulcano zum Besuch... und persönlich möchte ich gerne mal unsere Carla dort auflegen sehen *hehe*
