DJ Kutski to join Radio1
In a world that often demands DJ's to be pigeon holed within the confines of a particular genre, it is both rare and special when someone comes along who breaks the mould.
Few DJ's can put claim to having support from clubbers, DJ's and promoters alike in more than genre of music, yet during his short career DJ Kutski has been embraced by a cross section of who's who within the Hard Trance, Hard House and Hardcore fraternities. He's even attracted some kindly attention from major players in the world of hip-hop and turntablism too!
Often hailed as being one of the "New Breed" of DJ's who excel at the technical element of DJ-ing as well as the musical side, Kutski is much more than this. Yes, he can use effects, loop, cut & sample as well as any other DJ out there, but he can also beat juggle records at 160bpm, scratch as technically & accurately as many a DMC champion - he can even drop Hip Hop into a Hard Dance set & make it work....often with devastating effect. Like all masters of their art Kutski has perfected the skills of the past before embracing the technologies of the current day.
After highly acclaimed performance at the likes of Slinky, Sundissential, Storm, Frantic & Tasty (among others) over the past 12 months, Kutski has fast gained a reputation as one of the most talented & innovative DJ's in the UK. When word of Kutski's talents reached Radio 1, they quickly drafted the 22 year old in for "The Residency" show, which will ensure that Radio 1 continues to champion the most important new dance music genre's from the UK, whilst also giving emerging talent their first chance to broadcast on national radio. Wanting to expand on the genres featured in Hixxy's, now legendary, Hardcore broadcast from last year. Kutski's ability to move with ease between Hard Trance, Hard House and Hardcore was influential in Radio 1's decision. The debut show is scheduled for Sunday May 22nd 03:00 - 05:00. Who will support Hard Dance? ... The Revolution is coming!
